The Molveno Lake is a natural basin dating back almost 3,000 years, after a landslide. At the end of the Forties it was transformed into an hydroelectric basin. The steps of the creation of the Sarca-Molveno-Garda river connection can be seen thanks to a thematic route around the lake and in the hydroelectric plant of Santa Massenza.
It is a real route of industrial archeology, which tells us about the changes which occurred in the second afterwar period and during the economic boom in the Alps. The guided route around the lake explains the genesis of the hydroelectric use of the area. You can also visit the Santa Massenza Plant, which was then the most impressive plant in Europe.
