Cima Lasteri is a classic itinerary of the Paganella Plateau, very popular for the great scenarios on the Brenta Group. The ascent is pretty steep in its final part, and it follows for ¾ the path to “Piz Galin”, on a track which is usually sunny and well-kept. The final part requires attention. It the snow cover is hard or there are frames, you must use climbers or crampons.
From the parking lot Val Biole you follow the ascent along the way going to the Refuge La Montanara. At the crossroad Baita Pineta (1,296 m) you continue straight until a curve on the left, where you continue to go straight on the pat for the refuge, which goes into the forest, to reach a mountain road which crosses the slop, a little lower than the refuge, at 1,450 m).
You follow the path along a very light ascent (direction North-East) until you reach the small valley of the Rio Fontanella (1,476 m). Here you turn left and go up the little valley (direction North-West) until reaching the slopes above (direction Passo dei Camosci).

Once you reach 1,900 m you go right, towards North, ascending towards Passo Lasteri/Cima Lasteri.

You continue in direction Passo Laster (without any precise path, you follow more or less the itinerary of the summer path no. 344B), going slightly towards West and North-West, to reach the Passo (2,286 m).

Finally you go right (East) to face the last 200 m of altitude difference, crossing the western/south-western slope of Cima dei Lasteri. To reach the Cima you have to go around it, walking a kind of semicircle which leads you to the top (steep stretch, to be walked carefully). From the top you can enjoy the majestic landscape of the Brenta’s peaks.

You go back along the ascending route, until the road of Rio Fontanella (1,476 m) where you can decide to go back along the ascending route or going down following the river crack.
